AccuChef is a full-featured recipe organizer that starts you out with a collection of recipes and lets you add as many as you want (thousands available for free from our web site, millions available on the Internet).

AccuChef can perform a nutritional analysis (including exchanges) of your recipes using the included USDA SR15 database and resize your recipes for up to 999 servings. Features include a spell checker (with support for over 20 languages); an e-mail utility that supports MAPI, SMTP exchanges and built-in PKZIP/WINZIP compatible compression. Search for recipes based on any element, even type in some ingredients you have on hand and let it suggest recipes you can make.

A menu planner lets you add recipes for a day's meals and snacks then creates a shopping list of required ingredients in store aisle order (supports the Pocket PC shopping list program VOShoppingList too)! Before you head to the store, let it check the built in coupon database to see if you have any applicable coupons.

AccuChef will import Meal-Master, MasterCook, regular text, or you can paste in recipes from any web site. Export Meal-Master, MasterCook, comma separated value or text. Export to individual text files using the recipe name as the file name, copy them to your PALM or POCKET PC and take them with you!

You can sort recipes alphabetically by name, category, or main ingredient or jump to the area of interest using alphabetical tabs. Personalize your printouts by adding pictures of the recipe (BMP or JPG).

You can print in formatted layout on plain paper, 3x5 and 4x6 index cards or any other sized paper your printer will support, print nutritional labels or completely design your own output! You can generate a web cookbook and upload it to the Internet to share your creations with the world! You can even print out double sided cookbooks of your recipes complete with a table of contents for sharing with the family, creating heirlooms or as a fund raiser for your church or school!

Two Thumbs Up for AccuChef - Comprehensive, Full-Featured, Easy

Pros: - Surprising comprehensiveness and depth in applications - Chock full of features that make life easier for the user - Easy to connect nutritional information to ingredients and recipes. Software smartly summarizes nutritional info in a way YOU prefer. - Slick printing options - Readily customizable with user software options button - "Tip of the day" feature is nice touch - Very logical layout
Cons: - I hesitate to even mention it since I find the software so impressive, but IF there is a con... even though layout is logical, the comprehensiveness of the program means that there a lot to learn to use. Will need to play around with it for a bit to learn to use the full functionality. - The "perform cost analysis" feature comes with little cost data fresh from installing the software. This is understandable, since cost information will vary with current economic conditions in particular locations. But would be nice to have some "average" data to start with...

Pros: Accuchef is a handy software with a host of inbuilt exotic recipes. It has some really amazing features like nutritional calculator, meal planner, shopping lists and printing recipes
Cons: The user interface is poorly designed and has the look of a spreadsheet software like MS excel.The graphics and the menu buttons are totally obsolete and difficult to understand at first.

Pros: Thousands of recipes- you can save your own, the nutritional value calculator and the meal planner are pretty useful, provides online shopping list of recipes and cost analyzer of a recipe.
Cons: The appearance of the interface is poor and graphics are terrible. Most of the features are not useful for day to day use.

Pros: AccuChef offers a way to organize your recipe collection and comes with quite a few recipes that surprised me that I certainly will try.

Pros: Comes with an extensive recipe database preloaded into the software (around 100 recipes) sorted in categories that make finding things easy. The Shopping list feature allows you to transfer ingredients onto a shopping list. There are also pre-formatted printing templates for 2 different sizes of Avery index cards.
Cons: The set up of Accu Chef is difficult to figure out at times, the buttons are small and not always logical. Graphics are old and outdated. The preloaded recipe database is logically lacking many recipes (coffee cake, for example) and the import feature takes a few tries to figure out.
