Xeno Assault 2 Review
Great game if you're a Galactica lover!
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Good for Galactica lovers. Great graphics and sound.
Unoriginal and repetitive.
It's pretty clear that the creators of Xeno Assault 2 wanted to bring a game like Galactica to appear to some of the more "old school" gamers. The thing is, they copied it so well that it's actually not as good as I think it could've been.
To start off, the download and install times were extremely quick. The instructions for the game are fairly straightfoward, but if you're someone that would want to know before hand, the instructions button in game loads a website in whatever browser you're using, which is a little bit of a pain, but other than that I have no problems with it.
My only issue is that the game-play is EXACTLY like Galactica. The only difference, besides the enhanced graphics and sound, is some Astroid Fields, which really don't add that much. The game offers weapon upgrades and shields, as well as one interesting upgrade that slows the game speed down. Once you get beyond that, it's still very unoriginal and gets repetitive after about 15 minutes. It's clear that this game was intended to be an upgrade over Galactica, but it simply didn't get it done.
Overall, it's a nice game for you if you like to waste time once in awhile and blow stuff up, but I really couldn't recommend paying the $17.95 in order to buy the full version.
Nice game if you're looking for a quick waste of time before needing to do something else on your schedule.
