PicaJet FX Review

If I had to say something about PicaJet in just two words, it’s “phenomenal speed”. I used to use ACDSee, but my frustation made me look for an alternative and PicaJet is simply great to organize pictures and it's even easier than ACDSee.

I have lots of folders and PicaJet makes a breeze to catalog and categorize all the images. There are lots of keyboard shortkeys. It's not fast if a category has more than 8000 images, but if you organize your collection a little bit it turns real fast. What else? The slide show is well done with "super" effects transitions.

With PicaJet, you are allowed to review and edit photos the way you prefer, meaning that you're not pigeonholed into an awkward interface. For example, you can view your photos by folders, ratings, comments and keywords. However, I didn't like the edit features of PicaJet, so I’m not using them. Instead, PicaJet for me is just an image viewer of choice.
Another important thing worth mentioning is the fact that with PicaJet you can create more than one database. ACDSee and others won’t let you. This feature is really cool, because you don't have to mix all your photos in one huge data base.
