MySlideShow Review
Seemingly optionless... but wait... there's something there...
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
can do a fair amount of things (but not too many)
Features are hidden, the design is bad, and it won't export to Flash
MySlideShow is an application that has seemingly few options, but after you explore the software more thoroughly, you'll come to find it quite pleasing. What it can help you to do is create linear slideshows that have background music.
Besides the background music, you can attach audi files to each slide. But, the software can not automatically recognize the lengh of your track, so as to make the slide sat on for as long as the track lasts.
Also, you can set the transition options for the whole project or for every slide in part, depending on your needs.
However, design and creativity is what MySlideShow lacks. The toolbar that you can have displayed during the slideshow is simply ugly and there's no option to make it disappear when you're not hovering your mouse over it.
The software recognizes most of the image types available, so you'll have no compatibility issues.
One issue that I did stumble upon was that some transition effects did not perform correctly, and that sort of spoiled the fun that I was having with them.
Also, the User Interface is not as intuitive as it should be. Features are hidden rather than publicized. You have to go through a fairly good deal of right clicking, mouse moving and searching till you can find the desired operation.
The last thing that speaks against this software is probably the fact that it can't export to Flash, the most commonly used format on the web today... so that totally downgrades MySlideShow's valye.
Executable slideshows are good, but Flash slideshowa are better... same goes for the features - it has some, but more are expected...
