Pros:
Very meditative and calming.
Cons:
Only the fish move, nothing else. When I played it with Windows media players, my computer froze.
Review:

This is one calming screensaver. The demo version is pretty slim but nevertheless, AquaReal is a great program.

The tank environment is lifelike, except that it’s been kicked up a notch. Instead of cloudy water, there’s the other-worldly translucent light that only computers can come up with. I would’ve liked to see the effects of the water on the coral reef. But it was fun feeding the fish and watching the reflected daylight in the tank.

The Demo Settings are uncomplicated. On the Light tab, you have the opportunity to change the background and foreground colors. The Aquarium tab has a pull-down menu so it seems the full version probably has more settings than the coral reef. You can also choose if you want the bubbles a more homogeneous bubble curtain or if you want them to rise from a specific location.

Although the sound of bubbling water was soothing, I was glad it could be turned off. But the fish are the life of the tank. The demo version limits their number to a total of five but other buttons hint at more fish in the full version. The Control tab controls the fish and how one exits or the screensaver.

Conclusion:

On the whole, the demo version makes one want to have the full version, but it left me a bit wary. I don’t think I’ll use it in connection with another media program.
