Lets get straight to the point WinAVI Video Converter is not value for money, it is too expensive for a simple converter which video quality is very inconsistent. Yes is can convert most of the most popular files (avi ,wmv, mov) into most types which is great. Yes it does have some handy options like croping video clips. But quality in converted clips is not good enough for a product at this price. Compared to other programs that convert faster but take up most of your computers focus, this program can convert at a decent speed while sitting happily in the background not bothering anyone which is excellent for anyone running a mid-end to low-end computer allowing you to carry on while it does its business. The main issue i have with this program though is its convert to dvd function. While it only takes a few button presses to start the process, once it has finished converting it to dvd you will realise that it only converts to dvd format (vob) you have to go back to main menu to start up a seperate process to burn those files to dvd which is very frustrating if you were expecting a straight to dvd conversion.
WinAVI Video Converter is not bad but its certainly not the best on the market. Quality isnt great, not that fast and the dvd burning thing annoys me but i like it, mainly because its quick and easy to use and you dont get bogged down it options making converting very simple
