StickyNote Review
StickyNotes needs some work
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Good configurability of colors and other Stickynote effects. Notes have configurable alarms, expiration dates, and opacity/transperancy are variable. Ability to set and enable/disable hotkeys for various functions.
There is no "stick to desktop" feature: notes disappear. Various commands and procedures are hard to remember and or locate. With a large number of slides, can slow boot time considerably if "start-up" option is enabled.
At first glance, this software sounds like a great way to organize thoughts, events, and other reminders on your desktop. StickyNotes boasts an impressive set of features and an unimpressive implementation. I found several functions to either slow cpu load or not work at all such as attempting to exit from the systray icon, or applying borders to 3D-styled sticky-notes. The alarm and expiration features appear to be in good working order.
For note titling, there are decent features such as inserting today's date, today's date & time, as well as the first line of the note. The software claims to utilize AwareNet for users to send sticky-notes to eachother's desktops. I didn't test this but it screams security issues.
Individual sticky-notes are easily configurable. The UI is interfaced with many Windows capabilities, such as use of custom colors, any font installed on the OS, as well as ability to set 3D or private (password protected) options. A variable opacity/transperancy slider is also configurable (when 3D styling is not selected).
A good idea with some good features, but at this point this shareware isn't worth the money. Room for improvement.
