Wild West Wendy Review
I just love the old West...
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Quite interesting, didn't get bored, funny articles (in the in-game newspaper)
Old graphics, limited strategy elements, repetitive music
Wild West Wendy is a game that would seem repetitive at first, and that would make you think it's pointless and meaningless, but I have found it to be great in fact.
The first thing I liked about the game is the in-game tutorial. It takes things step by step and slowly teaches you all the important thing in the game. That's good, because otherwise the player might not understand all of the details.
The second thing that I liked was the fact that, interestingly enough, I didn't get bored while playing the game. Maybe it's just because I generally like Wild West games, but it's also the gradual insertion of different elements like thieves, fights, etc. I like the fact that it's not all dumped straight from the first mission/round (or week, in this game).
There are three modes to play, but the Story Mode is probably the most interesting one, because it actually has a plot and you don't just feel that you're playing in vain - it gives meaning to the game.
Then, there is the music. Whereas it is nice (Wild West Tunes), it is very repetitive. It's the same tracks playing over and over again. A little bit more diversity would have been appreciated.
Then, about the improvements. It would have been nice to be able to customize the saloon, and to offer an automated mode or helpers to Wendy (for after the main Story mode), so that the player can maybe focus on the economics in the game.
It's a nice game, though there is definitely room for improvements. I like the idea, but the some strategic elements would have been welcome.
