Pics Print Review
More work to be done...
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Output quality OK, export to image, PDF or printer
Difficult to use, unstable, few options
Well, Pics Print is a pretty good application for people that like wizards and templates and not editing anything themselves.
In fact, the whole goal of Pics Print is to make life as easy as possible for the user, so that all he/she has to do is go through a couple of steps, turn on the printer and print.
However, the deficiencies are quite obvious from the start. The first problem is that there are simply not enough templates and styles. At least 20 or 30 should have been included, so I don't really think that there are enough as is. The second thing that is not OK is the fact that it is quite slow to load big images. Next, the application is pretty hard to maneuver, and there are no options in the View panel for zooming in.
Another thing that I found quite distressing about the application was that it crashed on me upon trying to open a file of considerable size.
I do like a couple of things though: the Export to PDF option which I find very handy and the calendar wizard - I can say that I really liked the calendar that was produced.
A product that has yet to evolve and that requires more work. I like a couple of features, but the accessibility issues have alienated me from it.
