Review:

Before actually opening this program, I've no idea how great this program is.

Window XP comes with a default font viewer. Yes, it can view font, but to do so, you'll need to open the folder in which the font reside and double-clicking it. Still, it's better than opening a font in Word. However, after buying this program (no installation equired), you can freely remove the default font viewer (if you can) because standing next to this program, its useless.

The main window provide columns of font, all divided into different categories like TrueType or Bitmap. You can quickly view all the installed font in your system and maybe select the best one to apply to your still developing presentation without having to try all of them in the office window. However, this neat features is just the beginning.

Typograf comes with a zoom features, which lets you view all the characters of a font in a different window. That's nothing special you say? Not with the font size ranging from 4 to 1000!
With just a scroll of your mouse, you can quickly see the font in different size (You know, Segoe UI looks great at 8 but just normal from 32 up). The 100 size up will be very useful for font designers out there who would want a closer look at some well-produced font.

Having produced a font and share it to the world, then come across a suspicious looking font that very much resemble your hard-worked one? Or just staring at two font and cant tell the differences? No problem, just hit the compare button and you'll be provided with a list of font installed on your system. Then you can choose all the font you want to compare up to 60, clicking the compare tab and you'll get detail about the font in column, with corresponding info side by side like what the capital letters or number look like; the size and date: detail number about maximum font size in different area, etc.
Typograf also have a handy keyboard button which is extremely useful for strange, non-qwerty font
like Chinese font for example.
BUT THE MOST useful feature IMHO is the font management. Ever having multiple font coming from those
theme scattered across dozen of folder? just hit the cd shape button (Archiving cd of folder) and Typograf
will scan your selected folder or drive and bundle them all in tree structure folder. Then you can view all
these font (I advised using the font sample view instead of the list view) in one list! No more of those
tiresome browsing and double-clicking each font that Window force you to do. If your eyes catches some nice
font, all you have to do is dragging your choice in to the folder "Installed fonts" at the top of the tree
structure and voila!, its already in your font folder and ready to use.

Conclusion:

A very worthwhile software although it somewhat lack necessary tutorial to help its user. If you're font designer or someone who works with a lot of font, this is a must have. However, if you're just normal user, it may not be a good idea to pay 30$ but fear not, you can use the evaluate version with all the essential features I've described above. Enjoy and have a good day. :)
