Very easy to get the hang of, outstanding output quality, enabling of usage of custom decoders
Perhaps too pricey, could be more comprehensive
Ah, it's the program for which I still happen to use, to this day, since from all the programs that I have tried in hopes of getting the job done - that being none other than converting my video files to other formats for which it's capable of doing so - were simply, to sum it all up, a sad piece of junk and a pathetic attempt towards hopes of earning money by selling it. And this is coming from a guy who literally, every single day when a chance arises, either burns a DVD or records it from a DVD recorder (go ahead, I guess you might as well call me a media freak) - so, by that being the case, I'm not one of those who immediately hopped on this product and just started praising it because of what it actually can do - nah, I've used other programs such as ConvertXtoDVD (undeniably, it's also a good one - the only problem around it is its slow conversion process EVEN at a set output of the lowest quality possible; but also, keep in mind that the speed of conversions do depend on the speed of the actual computer which is something I am absolutely aware of, and in my case, I'm running on a computer with 256MBs of RAM and 2.7GHz - with those "credentials", I think its safe to say that it should at least be considerably fairly fast, since many of the newer computer models that are hitting the markets are indeed consisting of GBs of RAM, but yet, oddly enough and somewhat surprising to me for some reason, the gigahertz ranges to 1.0 to 2.0, as far as I'm concerned - and this is coming from a guy who works at a major retailer store), DVDSanta (ugh, not even wanting to get into that - but just to sum the whole entire program as a whole, I suggest you avoid it since it just looks very vague to me and took 30 minutes just to get at a completion percentage of just one - but then again, may just be my computer - just goes to show you that no one can rely on someone else's bad luck, rather by their own experience) and the highly regarded one, TMPGEnc (great interface and all; its just not suitable for such a system consisting of such specs).
I usually just use this program for its file format to a DVD, since of course, as previously mentioned, I'm a guy who just loves burning DVDs for god knows what reason. The interface of the program isn't anything stellar as compared to other programs such as TMPEGEnc Xpress, but as long as it does the job, I'm one happy customer. I don't really mind this seeing as its rather decent and is far from being the important portion of the program. The program itself is quite fast for such a computer, and that's where my state of being impressed stepped in. An average of 60 frames per second? What's there not to love?
Overall, this video converter from WinAVI happens to be one of, if not THE favorite converter that I have ever had the chance of coming across!
