Aqua Real Screensaver Review
Pleasantly Surprised... Until I Saw the Price!
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Attractive and Well-Made Screensaver Option to Use Saver as Desktop Image
Ridiculously Overpriced. Limited Levels of Interactivity and Customisation.
Well, firstly I have to say I am in two minds about this product. At first I was sceptical, not least at the claims of the screensaver featuring "The Most Advanced Technologies in Biomechanics".
I tested it out, and was surprised to find that it was really quite well made. The fish move in ways which although not completely realistic, are certainly far more considered and subtle than I had expected. The option of using the screensaver as your desktop is also very interesting, and something I have never seen before. The 'interactivity' with the fish is a nice touch but unsurprisingly limited, although I do not imagine many people, besides children, will spend very much time 'playing' with the screensaver.
And then I saw the price tag, and my jaw dropped. I cannot imagine paying this kind of money (almost $20!) for a screensaver of any kind... Since they serve no useful purpose and are primarily used when one is not using the computer, a screensaver would have to be extremely impressive in order for me to consider paying even $5 for it, let alone 20. Coupled with the fact that there are many interesting screensavers available for free on the internet, this product renders itself entirely obsolete. This is a real shame, because it's clear that it really isn't a cobbled-together product, and I would recommend it and even use it myself were it not for the proposterous price.
Unfortunately, although this is a nice enough product, it simply isn't worth the price.
