Aqua Real Screensaver Review
Lively experience, but not worth $18
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
easy to install and use, lively, little entertaining, different types of fishes
expensive, max. 5 fishes at a time
Aqua Real Screensaver is a virtual 3D fish aquarium if you don't want to buy a real one. This is the first software I have seen that gives you the option of both desktop as well as screensaver mode plus a background sound of water.
When in desktop mode it’s a lively wallpaper with those fishes swimming around your monitor. The main features are that you can tickle them with different cursors (human/cat/dog-hand) and you can feed them (right click to get this toolbar). The animation is very good. The aquarium picture is well created with different types of corals making it look real.
Other features are that there is a Settings option where you can change the background and foreground colours, change the fishes and their number (max. 5 fishes) or set it to random, there is fullscreen-windowed-desktop mode options, change bubble settings (volume, sound, amount), instead of the default water sound you can add your own music, change the display settings and the general screensaver settings. In the end you can also save your custom made settings and then load them whenever you want. When the screensaver is running, if you press F1 you well get a list of shortcuts to play with the bubbles and its fishes.
The downside of this screensaver is that sometimes the computer slows when in desktop mode. In desktop mode you cannot rearrange your icons also cannot access the right click option. For a good look of the virtual aquarium you need a high resolution monitor (for eg: 1024x768). You cannot let more than 5 fishes at a time in the aquarium.
In my opinion this screensaver is not really worth $18. It cannot entertain you more than 15 minutes.
All I would say is if you have extra $18 buy this screensaver. Else don't even think of it.
