n-Track Studio Review
N-track.. Does the N stand for No-way?
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
If You Like Cheap Programs Like You Like Cheap Beer....
Worst. Audio Prog. Ever.
I was disappointed to say the least that N-track offers no Macintosh compatibility.. However, I proceeded to import some tracks into its unappealing and overloaded graphic user interface on my HP/Compaq..
Can we say latency? This is clearly a product worth it's price. The fact that it's website boasts quality comparable or BETTER than Digidesigns Pro Tools is a joke. I don't even find it measurable to Apple's Garageband.
The preloaded effects leave much to be desired. Most of them, especially the reverbs and chorus take on a transient tin-like quality. One might argue that this could easily be solved by using third party VST plug-ins like Waves. Now, If I bought a $3000.00 Waves Diamond package WHY would I go so cheap on the recording program itself?
I'm sure that if the only audio recording device you've ever familiarized yourself with is a 4 track tape deck from the 80's, and you're smart enough to pick up the principles of computer based recording.. You might like this. Otherwise, I'd suggest spending the extra money on Digital Performer, Logic, Pro Tools or even Cubase (not a Cakewalk fan, myself)
If there's anything good to say, It does have a built in mp3 encoder...Then again.. So does Itunes...
N-Track is now deleted from my hard drive... I can sleep better...
