Registry First Aid Review

Registry First Aid is a complete solution for your computer 'Registry'.
Software like this is a must for even a casual computer user. Registry First Aid has a good interface and is user friendly. Even an average user can use it with ease. I have been using different types of registry correcting programs for few years now and I think this is the best till now.

The software gives the following tasks that can be performed:-

1. Scan for registry errors - This is a two step scanning process of the registry to search for errors like invalid paths, invalid file associations, invalid shared DLLs etc. The best part in this is that you can set the errors according to the safety level and then fix only the safe errors. This is useful if the user is not good with registries and don't know what all to fix. It creates a backup of the registry automatically.

2. Defragment Registry - This task compresses the registry making it small and effective. But this not always effective. Do have a backup of registry.

3. Search the registry - This task gives you the ability to search anything in your registry. I personally used this task to remove a backdoor-Trojan 'scvvhsot.exe' from registry which was not possible till then. So the search is effective.

4. Registry Snapshots - This task is not of much use for average users. The basic idea of this is to compare the after and before registry scan scenario. It tells you about the changes made in the registry among the compared registries. You can create a snapshot anytime.

5. Registry Backup - Most important task while using registry is its backup. One should always make a backup of the registry BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES to the registry. Registry is like the brain of the computer. If the registry is corrupted and you don't have backup you might have to reinstall your OS. So remember to create a backup as soon as you install this software.

Other than all these you can choose any language from the 21 available. The HELP menu is very helpful. In the end, the ADVANCED setting allows you to change settings of appearance, excluding registry strings/keys, scan paths and colours of the error display.
