Let's imagine that you've had a terribly busy day. From dropping the kids off, to lunch with your sweetheart, and a meeting with your executive boss to top it all off. When suddenly you remember about your son's final soccer game of the season that starts in 30 minutes, but you know you'll never make it in time.
If only there were something to remind you of all your daily tasks, like sticky notes perhaps. However, your a technologically keen person and your entire life is, for the most part, on some sort of technology.
Well, lucky for you, Tenebril Inc. has released StickyNote 9.0 for all of your digitalized sticky note needs. The program allows you to post sticky notes filled with reminders, notes, or whatever else you want to call it all over your personalized desktop. There is also a built-in feature that allows you to send these sticky notes to others via e-mail. However if that still is not enough for you, the sticky notes can also be synchronized with your personal digital assistant (PDA), and an alarm is included in the program to ensure that you will not forget about your posted note. If your really picky about the notes, you can alter it's texture and color if desired.
When it really comes down to it, this software is utterly pointless. Why someone would need sticky notes to be digitalized, other than the joy of flashing something new in your friend's face, is impractical. Need a reminder? Then you should just put real sticky notes where you need them; in your car, your cubicle, or even on your computer. A somewhat large pack of sticky notes will cost you about three dollars and fifty cents, but this program will run you for about eighteen dollars. Even if you use sticky notes so frequently that you think buying this will save you money, only business types would be around their computer so often to use it properly. Also, the PDA synchronization is pointless considering that you can already create notes on your PDA, and may have an alarm to remind you.
It seems that many of these little features were just added on to the program to try to make it sell. Anyone that is technological savvy will know this, and that may be StickyNote's biggest problem. StickyNote is trying to appeal to business types that will use their computer or laptop almost 24/7. The normal business person would recognize this program as impractical, considering many of them already have these basic features on their handheld, therefore prohibiting sales.
It seems that StickyNote by Tenebril Inc. was released for the sole purpose of trying to make our lives even more digitalized. However, in doing so, they have created an impractical program that will have you shoveling about eighteen dollars out of your wallet.
