Weave Words Review

WeaveWords is a pretty classic word game idea with a bit of a pop-culture twist. And in this one, twist is definitely the operative phrase.

WeaveWords gives players three gaming options: classic, relax, and timed. All modes feature a large honeycomb-shaped game board filled with random letters. By clicking your mouse, you must link letters together to create words, filling in blanks on a Hangman-like board at the top of the screen. The goal is to solve the puzzle by guessing the correct phrase (gamers are given a phrase category to help the guessing process) before running out of guesses or time (depending on the mode being played).

A simple enough, pretty standard word puzzle game, WeaveWords offers nothing more or less than that. No great music or sound effects, and there’s not even a celebration when the phrase is guessed correctly.

WeaveWords does keep track of high scores. The one thing to set this word game apart is the stat tracker that runs on the bottom of the main menu screen, telling you how many words you’ve made and other facts about your play.

Though some might consider it a little boring, those who love word games will find themselves drawn time and again to WeaveWords. This game, while a lot like other word puzzle games, is pretty fun for those of all ages.
