More interesting, a lot of options and choices as far as game play is concerned. Very different from the original version
None that I can See
Of all the card games you can play, Solitaire was never a game I was interested in I found it boring, slow, and not very exciting. Although it is a time consuming game for the most part, a game that involves collecting cards together from King, Queen, Jack, Ten down to the Ace was for me not a challenging game and as I said pretty boring. So when I saw the game Action Solitaire, I wasn’t really all that impressed and all I could think of was what could anyone do to the game of Solitaire to change it some much and call it Action Solitaire. I could not think of how Solitaire could have been ever changed to make it any different to my original opinions of this old game.
Although I can still say that Solitaire is still not a favourite game, the makers of Action Solitaire have made it quite different to the original concept. For many years this game has been a game played by adults and children alike, then computers appeared and Solitaire became computer Solitaire. However, back to computer Action Solitaire, the many differences start firstly with the overall look, which has been given a face-lift, modernised and jazzed up background. The background is the colour of the night sky and depending on the type of Solitaire game; you choose you will find different coloured strips. Which you make you almost feel like you’re in a nightclub instead of playing a computer game, when you first download the game and run the software beginning your first game you are shown a screen with about 52 different types of Solitaire game play. Which gives you many choices and helps the game from becoming boring and un-interesting? Then once you choose, you are taken to a second screen, which is your game play screen. The first difference you will notice that on the left side of the screen you have what round you are playing and a set of numbers beside the word ’Goal’. On the right side of the screen, you have the words ’Score and Time Bonus’.
There are many different rounds or levels if you like to this new Solitaire, so it is just not as simple as the original to win each level is not al about arranging all you cards from King, Queen, Jack etc together. But more about arranging as many as the cards as you can to gain points to meet you target goal within the time allowed, so it is more about collecting and arranging as many cards as you can to gain the target goal to be able to move unto the next level. If time runs out then you lose but if you gain your target goal, you gain a time bonus, which is extra points for your overall score and a helping hand to getting to the next level. Whether you get to the net level or not a pop-up screen comes on screen, to show you the statistics of your game play after each level but there is also a button on the main screen, which you can click on at anytime to check your progress. You can also pause or save your game from the main screen as well as change the cards size on screen to make it bring the cards up to a better viewing and playing size, as well as being able to access a step-by-step help guide should you need any help with this new and improved Solitaire.
There are some good positives to this new type of Solitaire, one of those positives is that because game play is very much about being given a specific time level for a specific task. The game moves a lot quicker and with the overall added extras like the target goal scorning, time bonuses and so many different types of game play makes this a more interesting game that the age old game of Solitaire or ordinary computer software. It is still a time consuming game but I did not find this version boring and it was more challenging, which add to the fun of the game. Overall, I’ve realised that Solitaire doesn’t need to be boring.
The makers of this game have revamped and re-styled the game, it looks and plays different there’s been effective changes that have made a lot of difference. As I said, Solitaire will never be one of my favourite games but I can now honestly say that I like it, well this version anyway.
Overall the game play is quicker, more interesting and fun goals. All round effective and good game to play
