Review:

I'll be the first person to admit that my software needs are a little strange. On occasion, I arrange music for marching bands, and provide them with their "marching orders", if you will. Back in the dark ages, we used to just listen to an orchestral recording in the band room (if one existed) and imagine how our version fit together.

Nowadays, the kids all have iPods. They are a lot more tech savvy, and providing a tape of the midi file to the band director no longer cuts it. I've been bombarded with requests for the arrangement as an MP3, but because I arrange in MIDI, I can't comply.

I was shocked to find MIDI Converter so quickly, and disappointed in the one-minute limit on the trial version. However, my complaints stop there.

The other MIDI converters I've tried to use are nowhere near the quality of MIDI Converter. Some have archaic user interfaces, and others fail at their primary purpose. MIDI Converter suffers from none of this!

Simply navigate through your hard drive through the pane on the left, set your input file and output directory, and click a very clearly-marked button to set it about its business. You can even run it in the background without worrying about glitches in the output: this program has handled some of my densest work flawlessly.

Don't get the wrong idea, this isn't going to change the way your MIDIs sound, as it uses your PC's existing MIDI synthesizer instruments. But sometimes, having that song as an MP3 (everyone knows and loves) versus a MIDI (just us trolls) makes all the difference.

Conclusion:

If you need to convert MIDIs, this program takes just a minute to master. Fire and forget without messy technical jargon.
