BrickShooter Review
Fun... but not $17.95 fun...
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Loads quickly and easily. Easy to understand directions and quick gameplay.
Predictable with no bells, whistles or frills to speak of.
I have to say that I do enjoy puzzle games of this type in general. It is a great way to kill some time at the office, when the boss isn't skulking around. With that being said, I was a bit disappointed when I started playing this game. Although the directions were simple and straightforward enough to jump in with both feet, the actual gameplay was a bit on the predictable side. I would like to see the devs come up with a version that allows you to do something more with the blocks that you send into the mix. The ability to manipulate the blocks (if even in limited quantities and/or in limited directions) would be helpful if you run into the proverbial roadblock. I liked the clock feature in the upper left hand corner of the screen. It gave me a sense that I could lose myself in this game for awhile, and could possibly miss my 2:15 train to Walla Walla if not careful. I guess the question that I have to ask is... Would I play the game again? Sure. It can be a bit frustrating at times, but I think that is one of the marks of a promising game... The ability to challenge. Would I play it again if I had to pay the $17.95 to get the registered version? Nope. Too many free games of this type on the net to pay for something that seems a bit too "cookie cutter". Let's hope the devs can take this lemon and make some sweet sweet lemonade...
