Registry First Aid really does clean up your registry... It's easy to use.
Registry First Aid cleans the registry too much. It can cause some major integrity problems in your computer. May even stop valid installed software from working right at all.
Hello all, I hope you find this review helpful.
In downloading and testing this piece of software, I found that it was doing a bit too much work on my computer's registry. There are many many Registry cleaning/repairing software types out there, and many of them do too much.
Registry First Aid, is a piece of software that does a tad too much. I've compared this software with another called "Registry Repair Wizard" and found the results startling. Running "Registry First Aid" It found a total of 688 invalid/bad entries in my registry.
Respectively, I ran "Registry Repair Wizard" before even attempting to remove the entries via the "Registry First Aid" software, "Registry Repair Wizard" found only 237 invalid/bad registry entries.
I decided I should look into which software found what, and checked some of these bad entries against each other. I found that "Registry First Aid" is actually trying to remove many of my valid entries! It's findings are almost purely bogus!
If I would have ran the software completely and had it remove my registry entries, my computer's integrity would be very questionable at this point.
I must also stress that these scans will vary from computer to computer, and that the OS makes a bit of difference as well. I'm currently using a Windows XP installed computer. If I had used this on my Windows Vista Computer, I may have found even more questionable results.
This software may work best on WinXP, so using it on WinVista would be a bit shaky, at best. The Registry is a key component of the Windows OS, and mucking with it too much will cause it to degrade. You must always be careful in using a registry cleaner, regardless of the reviews surrounding it.
Try to find something else. In trying to speed up, and fix, your computer I'm sure you don't want all your software to start bugging out. It would be in the best interest to try and find something like Registry Repair Wizard.
