Very Thorough Nice Interface Scheduling Support Built-In
Intimidating At First The Price Is A Bit Much
When you first load up O&O Defrag Professional, you can immediatly tell the difference between it and the default Windows defragmentation utility. The sleek colors and colored squares when you defragment make for an overall pretty program.
However, O&O Defrag Professional is more than just a pretty interface. It gives you a wide range of defragmentation options. New users will feel slightly intimidated at first by the 6 options O&O Defrag Professional has compared to the Windows default of just one (as did I when I first started using the software).
After a quick familiarisation with the program and reading the contained help files (F1), it looses it's intimidating feel and that is when the fun begins. It can arrange your files using 5 different options, or you can just set it to do what it thinks best using it's detailed analysing technique.
Time wise, it takes noticibly longer than the standard Windows defragmentation utility, however it is a lot more effective and the extra time will certainly not go to waste.
Overall, a very good program. Slower, but better than the standard Windows utility. Definetly gives the other defragmenters on the market some very healthy competition. Worth getting if you have $40 to spare.
