Review:

When I tried this game I was very excited because I am an avid RPG fan. While I found this game interesting and addicting, there are some negatives. First of, when I started the game it didn't match my computer screen resolution, so about 1/4 of the screen was missing on the right side. This would have been a minor inconvenience and all I would have had to do was adjust the screen ratio...if there was one. I found no options under the main menu screen or any menu that allowed me to adjust the games visual performance. Though I manged to figure out how to play the game with a little missing screen anyways, it was frustrating. Once i started playing, I found out this to be a regular RPG game. You chose from one of the classes, each one had a specialization (making gold, fighting, building castles, etc.) After that you start progressing through the game by increasing your stats like castle size and the amount of people in your kingdom. Occasionally, disasters will strike(like goblin attacks, harsh weather, internal mischief, etc.),which are the challenges you have to overcome to progress to the next area. Throughout the game you get stronger, so that you can move on to new lands, by buying upgrades using magic stones that you get from various events. The gameplay can get repetitive, buying and upgrading so that you can level, but isn't that what RPG's are all about? What I found annoying was the lack of effort on the visual aspects on the game. The screen pretty much stays the same all throughout. Only the background and your castle changes...a bit. It was if I was staring at a picture while playing. Also, the combat system is very redundant, all you pretty much do is click your mouse. Some positive aspects are the music, which I found appealing to the fantasy like setting. On the same note, I enjoyed that they model the game like a classic Dungeons and Dragons type RPG. By that I mean they had characters like Dwarfs, Knights, Ogres, Goblins, etc.

Conclusion:

Though I found this game addicting, it can get old in a while. Thus, I don't think that $20 is worth it. There are way better RPG's, particularly MMORPG's, on the internet that are free and offer more.
