Great ease of use for users who don't really understand what the program is doing. Its features get the job done quickly and effectively, and that's all one could ask for.
Be careful which files are deleted and registry entries removed. NEVER delete anything if you are unsure if it is required or not. This program does a good job at that, but sometimes required files can be removed by programs like this (not just this program).
Ace Utilities – In my opinion, that says enough to use this product. It contains a ton of very useful “utilities”, and shows that it’s an “Ace” with many of them. From the earlier version of this particular title to the newest release, the easy of use has maintained its simplicity, and its features keep getting better and better. In addition, the price is just as affordable (and even cheaper) than other, more popular titles that claim to do the same things.
I have used this application since its early version, and it still exemplifies what a good program is. Since first using the trial of an earlier version it has proved to successfully optimize, clean out, and back up many PCs that I have used. Its ease of use stands out from other programs of the like, and it effectively does what you would expect it to do.
It has a great tool for cleaning out junk files (something that all PCs contain), a spectacular Registry cleaner (improves overall PC performance, but please keep in mind - if the incorrect entries are removed it could cause more harm than good, so please be careful when using any program that does this.) The backup utility isn’t the best, but it gets the job done if all you need is a decent backup of your files.
Overall, for novice users it’s a good tool to slightly improve PC performance and increase the productivity and longevity of the machine itself. There are other alternatives (that are free), but they are specialized utilities aimed at more experienced Power Users. None of the other competing programs offer the full-blow features and capabilities that Ace Utilities sport.
I would give this program a solid 3.75 on a 5 point scale. It is above average, but not quite the best. This is because there are alternatives that are free, and take up less space. But, concerning this program exclusively, it earns a 4/5, hands down - very useful program. A well used PC's performance, productivity, and effectiveness can easily be improved with this solid application.
