Alien Shooter, a game made by the Sigma Team studio, hoped to flip the gaming world upside-down. Truth to be told, it never really made it that far. This isometric game, played from the viewpoint of a bad-ass hero (or heroine) shooting, burning, and kicking the crap out of hordes of aliens which have overrun a military research base, even comes complete with the stereotypical piles of dead scientists. Bringing nothing new into the foray, and only having a straight to the point single player 'campaign' mode and a survivor mode in which never ending groups of aliens attack you until you die, Alien Shooter is nothing extraordinary. Although the weapons and armor upgrades are quite extensive and the storyline quite flawless, the second play through was not nearly as exciting as the first time around.
Released in 2003, it must have been a hit back then, but its nothing special now. Alien Shooter has been eclipsed by newer games.
