If you enjoy Mahjongg, you're going to have fun playing this game. It's a tad showy and confusing at first, but once you work your way through the kinks, you're really going to love it.
If you're new to Mahjongg, you're going to hate this game and never play Mahjongg again.
I've always dabbled in Mahjongg, and while I've never loved nor hated the game, I think it's safe to say that I'll forever dislike it after having played "Pretty Good Mahjongg." "Pretty Good Mahjongg" seemed pretty bad to me. It was too showy, had annoying sounds which went off whenever I clicked on a tile, and all of the tiles looked way too much alike. Granted, the point is for them to look similar to trick the player, but it was bordering on ridiculous due to very similar art designs and a lack of color variety (the only colors you see are green, red, and black; come on! Get creative!). Then, another thing which irked me was the lighting of the tiles. The higher up the tile on the stack, the lighter the contrast was to get the player to focus more on certain areas of the playing field and less on others.
One thing I did like about this game was the variety of the Mahjongg game styles that the player could choose from. However, I find it hard to believe that there is a dramatic difference in a lot of the set-ups available. It actually felt fairly overwhelming trying to decide what set-up to go with and trying to determine the differences in some of them.
I'm sure fans of the game will enjoy playing this, but if you're considering picking up Mahjongg for the very first time, I highly recommend that you don't start here.
