MySlideShow Review

MySlideShow is a small, simple program for creating (brace yourself...) picture slide shows. It has a clean, easy to navigate interface and the features are fairly intuitive (I had a simple slide show running in under 3 minutes, without reading the Help file).

You simply create a new project, import your pictures, add them to the show, and then stylize them (add captions, effects, etc.).

MySlideShow gives you the option to export your creation to an executable (.exe) which is a very nice feature. That way you can send it to friends/family and they can just double-click it to run it, they don’t need the software installed.

With that said, this program is really a one-trick pony. Luckily, it is quite adept at its sole trick.

If you have PowerPoint, you can accomplish the exact same feats as MySlideShow, albeit perhaps not as quickly. However, MySlideShow cannot replace PowerPoint as it does not have the same functionality for handling text.

At around $20, you are getting a fair deal, although you can find free or lower priced software that will allow you to create slide shows. I would much rather see a price tag of $9-14, at which point I would feel like I was getting a good deal for such a specialized program.
