Review:

iPodSync, a very apt name, does exactly what you expect.

There are a few criteria you must meet in order to use this program:

1. Own an iPod
2. Use Outlook as your PIM (Personal Information Manager)
3. Have the desire to turn your iPod into a basic PDA

If you meet the above criteria, then by all means grab this program!

Before you get your hopes too high you must realize that iPodSync will not turn your iPod into a fully-functional PDA. Yes, your iPod will now have some of the same features as a PDA, but since the iPod was not designed for data input, it can never really replace a good PDA.

Having said that, let's cover the positive aspects of pairing this program with your iPod.

First of all, the user interface is beautiful in its simplicity. Eight icons divide up the various options of what you can sync to your iPod. A ninth button starts the sync process. And that is it! Well, there is a small help button that brings up a decent help file, but you won't likely need that.

Besides syncing all of the usual stuff from Outlook (contacts, appointments, tasks, notes, and email) iPodSync also lets you grab data from the Web such as weather and news - giving you some great fodder for killing time later on.

For about $13, you are getting a steal for the amount of functionality that is being added to your iPod.

Conclusion:

Definitely a worthwhile purchase to extend the usefulness of your iPod!
