Xeno Assault 2 Review
Not worth the price
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
-Challenging -Decent graphics -Easy controls
-Repetitive gameplay -Unoriginal -Not addictive
The game itself is challenging and fun... for 5 minutes. After I passed the fourth mission I realized that very little has changed other than difficulty. No newer bosses, no new powerups, even the pattern the aliens flew in were basically the same.
There is very little to improve upon in the top-down shooter genre, but this game does not introduce anything new at all. You get your shields, extra lives, power-ups, and bonus weapons; all of this has already been done in previous games of the same type.
The graphics were what I expected from this type of game -nothing special. You always have the same background, space. You're never flying over an enemy base or shooting at ground units like in other shooter scroller games.
All in all, this game receives 2 stars from me. The gameplay is what I expected, if not less than. Truthfully, I would rather play 1942 or Viper in an arcade than this game. For the asking price of $17.95, you would get better value for a game if you spent that money on a used Xbox 360 game at Gamestop.
