You have a central place for thoughts, reminders, and notes. Doesn't take up a lot of room and opens quickly. No need for a word document or excel sheet.
A little too pricey for my taste. No good way to make them look good on a desktop, no matter how you personalize your note.
I have tried out stickies in multiple different situations. I thought it was neat for putting reminders on your desktop, cause truthfully, i use my computer everyday so having a reminder stuck on my computer is very effective. I was able to customize the sticky to make it look cooler, but when i thought about it, having stickies all over my desktop doesn't make my computer look too professional. However, you are able to export the sticky and come back to it later, but that defeats the whole purpose of a reminder.
Now it does have a feature that is very useful and its called "floating window". The sticky will always be on the front of your screen so you are able to see it no matter what else you are viewing. It's great for when you need to compare something or take an inventory of some kind. For example, if you are signing up for college classes and you want to see what classes you already have and what classes you still need, stickies makes this operation a breeze. Or even for a simple grocery list. Write down what you need as you remember it and then export the sticky and print it out.
These little notes can be very convenient, but they can also make your computer looked cluttered depending on what you do with them. Is it worth the 18 bucks? Well it depends on what your lifestyle is. If you enjoy little notes and reminders or have thoughts that you just want to write down while you're on the computer, then this could be perfect.
If you can find a friend who already has it, try it out and see if its practical for you. Just too pricey for a computerized sticky note.
