Customizable Colors and Fonts, Lightweight Program, Transparent Post-its
Horrible Graphics, Unpractical Post-its, Mysteriously Connects to Internet for a reason I am unsure of...
I am suprised to see all the good reviews for this software considering the programmer didn't consider a few things when designing the application. Although, it is "cute" and "personalized" when the the sticky notes are sideways, it is not every practical. Also, it is not very easy to add bullet points to the regular post-its. The idea of this is to make quick personal notes to help one remember what to do in the future. This softwares way of adding things is good for long term planners where planning must take time.
The separate window that does have more options and that is not sideways does its job much better than the "cute" post-its but, to be honest, it is just plain ugly. No way would I ever have that on my desktop. Even though the colorful post-its look much better than the window option, they too are unattractive. The edges are horribly aliased and the post-its look like low-quality gifs you would find on Windows 98. In addition, the shadows underneath the post-its look very articifial.
But don't think everything is bad about this application. You do have the option of changing the color and font of your notes, which allows it to be the way you want. A neat graphical feature they got somewhat right is the transparency. When you have a post-it on your desktop, you can still see your background or icons underneath, which is a nice little feature.
Overall, this program does its job...but not in a satisfying way. The graphics really hurt the application because nobody wants something that ugly on their desktop (at least I don't). Graphics aside, the very basic things are done OK but not in any exceptional matter and if you have to jot things down quickly, this won't be useful.
If you're looking for a primitive note-taking program, then this is for you. Or else, I'd recommend sticking real notes to your monitor to remind yourself of things, for now.
