Repetitive gameplay, Horrific storyline, Mundane characters
Betty's Beer Bar is a time-management game, the genre of game that hundreds of thousands of people have lost their hours to. The game itself, is basically about this girl named Betty, managing a beer bar. Of course, took me a while to figure out!
The gameplay itself goes the same as every other time-management game, you start off with a character wanting achieve something greater, and then start a whole storyline of upgrading and renovating, bigger and better.
Sadly though, Betty's Beer Bar didn't quite capture the concept of an exciting progressing storyline that many other time management games have been able to. In the game, all you really do is stay in the same situated location, getting minor upgrades and repetitive levels.
The difficulty itself isn't challenging, even if you manage to progress pretty far in the game. There isn't much to do besides get dirty beer mugs, clean them and refill them. Rinse and repeat. This basically goes on the ENTIRE game. That's right, the same thing. Over and over and over again.
It's an arcade style game, and the art itself is somewhat pleasing, but really that's all there is to the game. It's enjoyable for a dozen or so levels, but once you start realizing nothing really changes, you'll probably pass this title on.
To be honest, this title can be passed up quite quickly, but it's decent enough to give it a shot and try it out for a test run.
