3D Live Snooker Review
Nothing amazing, but rather addictive
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
easy to learn, better than free online snooker
inverted camera movement only, having to pay $29
I'm going to walk yout through the process of my first experiance with this game. It started off rather badly, and that's because you have to pay $29 to play it, but if you have some expendible income like me then this shouldn't be a problem :D.
So after I purchased the game, I installed it and everything went normally.. easy to install, easy to open up the game and navigate through the site etc etc. You could adjust the resolution, ask for hints, change the sound effects, the speed of the ball.. a rather helpfull customization for someone with a slow computer or laptop, or who struggles with the physics of snooker.
I found it cool that you had the option of not only vsing the computer (which I found incredibly hard to beat, infact I've only won a few games of the many ive play - which can be considered good or bad) or vs other human players.
When playing the game I found there was a lack of sounds, no music at all really, but this is easily fixed as you can play your own music. The ball movement seemed accurate, and the sound effects were spot on for me. The environment of the game was ok, I didnt understand the grandfather clock, as i've never seen one at a real life snooker club, but it's not a big deal.
One annoying thing was the camera would only move at an inverted setting, but you get use to this, it can just be annoying in the first 5 minutes of play (when your trying to figure out the controlls and the camera wont move the way you're use to it moving.) Also I found there was a long wait between shots, as the animation would take a while, but you can fix this by hitting f8.
To sum up this game is definately better than free online snooker games, but I don't know if the benefits of this game outweigh the price. how ever it is rather addictive and I find myself playing atleast a few games per day.
I wouldn't buy it if you're short for change, I mean it's not a huge improvement from the free online games, and it's not that much more addictive, but it does offer a few extra options, it's up to you to decide if they're worth $29.
