Luxor - The Aim Game

smooth, fast-paced game play and nice graphics
a little repetitive
Luxor is a challenging puzzle game which involves shooting colored balls into sequences of three or more balls of the same color. Once you achieve a sequence, the balls disappear. If you fail to do this in a timely manner, more balls will appear. Once all the colored balls have been destroyed, you can proceed to the next level.
Stimulating and fast-paced, Luxor can be quite a challenge at times. The tracks in which the balls slide down change with each level, and while they may look easy at first, I was impressed with the difficulty once I started actually shooting the balls. Obstacles included cave-like areas and tracks that overlap in places.
I was really involved for the first seven levels or so, but after that it got a little boring. The tracks got more difficult, but the object remained the same: shoot the balls, and hope they line up right. Labeled as a ‘puzzle’ game, Luxor requires more skill at aiming than actual problem solving. Despite this, I was very impressed by the good looking graphics and smooth game play, and enjoyed the background music – a jovial mix of Egyptian and pirate themes.
Luxor is a fairly fun game with interesting challenges, but can get boring after several levels. It's fun if you've just got some time to kill.
