Sony Sound Forge Pro 10 is the latest incarnation of the powerful professional audio production and processing software from Sony. A studio quality 24/32/64-bit 192KHz digital audio editing powerhouse which is perfect for recording, editing, manipulating and mastering audio and is an essential part of my own music production and editing workflow.

It boasts a powerful effect processing feature boasting over 40 real time professional studio effects and processes including amplitude modulation, chorus, delay/echo, distortion, dynamics, envelope, flange/wah-wah, noise gate, pitch, reverb, vibrato and wave hammer.It also comes bundled with the Zplane élastique Pro timestretch and pitch shift plug-in allowing for top notch audio mastering and the excellent iZotope Mastering Effects Bundle 2 (standalone value upwards of £200) includes Mastering EQ, Mastering Reverb, Mastering Limiter, Mastering Stereo Imager, Mastering Harmonic Exciter, and Multiband Compressor.

Another useful feature of this program is it's excellent capability for cleansing noisy or distorted audio, for example you can convert and clean all the clicks, crackles and hiss from all your favourite tape or vinyl recordings into perfectly clear, crisp digital audio

As well as all the major audio formats, Pro 10 also supports various video formats including AVI, WMV, and MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 allowing you to combine video and audio with high precision.

Sony has also included interactive tutorials with the software to help you get to grips with the many features it has to offer.
