ACDSee 8 Photo Manager Review
Say Bye Bye to Windows Photo Viewer
You can buy it at RegNow for that price.
Batch processing of images, supports most image file formats, includes the necessary photo edit capabilities for the home user.
Interface might take a while to get used to, but once you do you will be glad you chose ACDSee.
I've been using ACDSee for a long time (since version 3.1 came out), some might advocate that for this reason my opinion might be a little biased but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Besides my personal experience with this program I've installed it on computers belonging to friends and family who weren't computer savvy at all, and I can say that all of them without exception grew very comfortable with the software after messing with it for a few days.
.
One of the best things about this program is that you don't have to use all of its features: you can just use the features you need, without the others getting in your way.
.
I personally know some people who have their own way of sorting their pictures, and even though they aren't using ACDSee to tag and categorize their pictures it allows them to painlessly browse through their entire collection. By using the scroll wheel any user can quickly shift from picture to picture, all the while having all the more popular picture edit capabilities within easy reach (resize, rotate, crop... with a single click). Furthermore ACDSee's file explorer allows you to quickly preview pictures as you browse though folders and easily e-mail or burn (into a CD or DVD) any number of them.
.
The batch processing tools included ease the pain of manipulating multiple pictures at once, 100 or 1000 pictures, thanks to ACDSee it makes no difference at all; with ACDSee you can simply select the pictures you want, click the appropriate batch action and then let it do the hard work for you. You can even create a process that will manipulate images in many different ways (e.g: you can create a process that converts any number of pictures to .jpg, timestamps them and then renames them as you see fit).
Thanks to ACDSee you will no longer dread going back home after a holiday and having to sort all the pictures you took.
