Loads of options; loads of fun.
Too much fun. With the lack of closure. Replay value pushes time demands.
Taking an age old game and implementing more twists than a season of 24, Action Solitaire is wildly addictive. With 52 variations to choose from, solitaire lovers have plenty of options to burn hours of a day.
The variations are relatively easy to understand, but the developers thought about the user with handy help instructions. That said, the interface lends itself to the layman which is exactly why Solitaire of the past captures so many hearts (no pun) in the first place.
The biggest negative is that this game does have the potential to take over a big block of time with the scoring system as gratifying as it is leaving the user thirsting for yet another opportunity to set a new record with each try.
But, for $22.45, to have this gem on a laptop ready for the perfect time to kill a couple hours in an airport, Action Solitaire is worth the bills.
At least try it. If you can exhibit enough willpower to not lose your job, friends, significant other, or want to spend time playing more modern games, definitely pick this one up.
